Our Favourite Ever Brit Awards Red Carpet Looks
Music and hair have always gone hand in hand - and the Brit Awards, taking place on the 28th February, is the playground where stars go to get creative with their styles. This year’s attendees span everyone from Harry Styles and Olivia Dean, to Wolf Alice, Rosalía and Sombr, promising red carpet looks that will go down in hairstyle history.
In honour of the 2026 ceremony, we’re looking back on some of the most iconic Brit Awards Red Carpet hair looks - moments that defined eras, sparked trends and put celebrity hairstyles at the forefront of pop culture.
Charli XCX at the Brit Awards 2025

In 2025, the Brit Awards became the Brat Awards as Charli XCX dominated nominees’ lists, bringing Brat Summer to an as the singer-producer took home five awards - including MasterCard Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Dance Act.
She celebrated a career-defining year by ditching the club rat look and going full gothic with wavy, coal-black tresses under a dramatic black veil.
Her hair stylist, Matt Benns - who popularised the phrase “hairology” - was inspired by the black widow aesthetic. He treats her naturally curly locks as an extension of her high-octane choreo, so while she didn’t perform at the 2025 Brits ceremony, tossing and head-banging her ultra-long hair has become a mainstay of her live shows.
Geri Halliwell at the Brit Awards 1997

Few of us wouldn’t recognise Ginger Spice’s iconic Union Jack dress, which she debuted at the Brit Awards 1997. It was the height of Cool Britannia, and her bum-skimming super-mini dress became a symbol of the cheeky, daring fashion of the time.
Paired with the flaming-red hair that gave her her stage name, it was a patriotic nod to camp. But it’s the contrast of that copper hue with the bleached blonde face-framing streaks that has left the biggest imprint. The style’s been imitated by everyone from Dua Lipa to Kaia Gerber, it’s a customisable, low-maintenance way to experiment with new styles.
Face-framing contrast is what makes this style work. Recreate the look with our patented two-piece BABY FRAMERS®. They clip in discreetly at the hairline to give definition while letting you experiment with colour - without committing to a full set.
Lady Gaga at the Brit Awards 2010

From the hair bows that defined her debut to the Andy Warhol-inspired acid-yellow tips of her Monster album era, the Die With a Smile and Poker Face singer is no stranger to avant garde hairstyles.
For the Brit Awards 2010 - where she took home the Best International Female Award and the Breakthrough Act Award - the style chameleon paid homage to the late Alexander McQueen with a white pompadour wig attached to a floral lace face mask.
Created alongside stylist Malcolm Edwards, the towering wedding-cake wig has become one of the star’s most recognised red carpet looks.
Amy Winehouse at the Brit Awards 2007

Gaga’s huge bouffant is second only to Amy Winehouse’s signature beehive. The ultra-backcombed look started out as a joke between Winehouse and her long-time hair stylist, Tracey Cahoon - an exaggerated tribute to 60s girl groups like the Ronettes and the Shirelles.
Teased and stacked to perfection for the Brit Awards 2007, jet-black waist-length extensions were added for extra flair as she took to the stage to perform lead single - Rehab - from Back to Black.
Winehouse’s legacy lives on, not just through her music, but her irreplaceable fashion and hair looks.
Cher at the Brit Awards 1999

Cher epitomised the late-90s Eurodance craze. Believe, from her 22nd album (which not only pioneered AutoTune with its almost-robotic vocals, but became the soundtrack for the countdown to the millennium) was one of the biggest hits of 1999.
So for that year’s Brit Awards, she created a space-age look to match: metallic-toned hair with a choppy fringe, bejewelled and bedazzled at the crown with beads made to look like stars.
While she may not have clinched any awards at that year’s ceremony at the London Arena, her performance (and the ultra-modern, pearlescent hair to match) went down as one of the show’s best.
If you’re looking for a similar hue, Pearl is our cool-toned blonde shade with golden undertones and a silvery cast that perfectly captures Cher’s ultra-modern look.
With the 2026 Brits Awards just around the corner, we can’t wait to see how this year’s stars will push the boundaries of hair artistry.
